In Sunday’s newsletter, I shared a story about football. When the home crowd gets loud, the quarterback leads on the field and the coaches up in the box watch the whole play. Every piece has to work together for one play to work.
That’s the picture I give parents. You’re the Head Coach. Your child’s teacher, tutor, reading specialist, doctor, or therapist are the position coaches, and each one knows their part of the field. You’re the one who sees the whole thing, decides what your child needs in the moment, and builds the learning habits your family believes in.
Homeschooling? You already wear more hats than most. The Head Coach role helps you decide which one the moment needs.
So let’s map it out.
Who’s on your child’s team right now? And which part is hardest to keep connected?
A short answer is perfect. Something like: “Teacher, tutor, pediatrician. Hardest part: getting everyone on the same page about homework.”
Quick note: this is a public community, visible on the web. Share roles, not names. “Reading tutor” works great. Your child’s name and school stay with you.
Just reading along? That counts too. When you’re ready, even a one-line answer helps another parent see they’re not the only one juggling all of this.
